One day Picasso welcomes a visitor to his studio. On the floor in the middle of the studio is a large block of rock. The visitor asks Picasso what he intends to do with it.

“From that rock I will sculpt a lion”, Picasso replies.

The visitor is taken aback. It’s hard to imagine that anything can be created from this rock. He asks how this can be done and how Picasso will approach this task.

“Oh it’s quite simple” Picasso says, “I just chisel and knock of all the parts that don’t look like a lion”.

Creativity is not the process of invention form nothing. It is rather the painstaking process of removing all the bits that don’t look like a good idea.
